Your chance to witness a way of life almost forgotten. A great morning out discovering the lesser seen Morocco.

You will be collected from your hotel at about 8am to head out across the Saiss Plateau through pleasant rolling countryside and with the Middle Atlas Mountains beckoning in the distance. The small hamlet of Bhalil which claims ancient Christian origins awaits. The cobble stone streets and elegant stone bridges enhance the tranquil appeal, as women wash clothes and carpets in the communal basin or seasonal river, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Fez.

Your guide will lead you from here up a narrow winding path to some unique Troglodyte dwellings where some 40 families still live. You will doubtless be invited in for some mint tea and to gain an even better insight into life in this unchanged way of life. The tour then takes you further into the south-west for a 4km walk past limestone sinks and caves which were once home to prehistoric families.

Keep an eye out for buzzards, kestrels, eagles and rock doves amongst other rare birds before stopping at the Cascade Oued Aggai. In Spring it is possible to sit in the natural pool or shower under pouring waters as a picnic lunch is prepared.

The attractive town of Sefrou, with its turrets and nine gateways, is the final stop where you may wish to barter in the bustling souq before boarding the minibus for the one hour drive back to Fes along the old caravan route. You should expect to arrive back at your hotel at about 2.30; a great way to spend a morning.

In the morning, you will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from your hotel in central Cape Town. There will be English/German commentary in the coach.

Take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Coast passing through the fishing village of Hout Bay. Here, you have the option of taking a short boat trip to Duiker Island to view the Cape fur seals (cost not included).

Hike in the Tassa Ouirgane National Park - Private Tour from Marrakech

Easy Hike to the Tin-Mal Mosque - Private Tour from Marrakech

The stunning Tin Mal mosque is the prize at the end of this history filled hike through beautiful Valley of Ljoukak.

A three hour ramble which takes in the decaying riverside Kasbah of a once powerful feudal chieftain. The nesting storks pay little respect to the history of this old palace-fortress, but the romantic ruins still retain some traces of grandeur in the original Hispano-Arabesque decoration. The trek continues to past the castle of Agadir n’Gouf which became an outpost of the French Foreign Legion in the 1920’s and crosses the hauntingly beautiful Valley of ljoukak before arriving at the small remote stronghold settlement of Tin Mal.

The Mosque is the sole survivor of a once holy 12^th Century City and only one of two in the whole of Morocco into which non-Muslims may enter (except on Fridays). Although the Mosque is now roofless, this only adds to the mystery and austerity of the place and the warm sun casts strong shadows from the horseshoe arches creating a playground for any photographer.A riverside picnic lunch is included on the return journey along with glimpses of further ruins on this thoroughly enjoyable and evocative hike.

Inaugurated in 1923, this is the longest established course, a favourite of the former King having been constantly renovated and improved. The 15th hole is particularly tough with strategically hidden greens separated by mounds, bunkers and projecting palm trees. The fast greens are of Bermuda and Pencross grass and the course also features a club house, pro shop and club pro.

Marrakech Hot Air Balloon Flight

In order to take advantage of the best part of the day, you will be collected from your Marrakech hotel in the early morning, between 5.30 and 6.30am (according to the season), and driven to the launch site about a kilometre to the west of Marrakech.

How's this for a quick taste of adventure? Conquer North Africa's highest peak and be back in the office on Monday to tell everyone about it!

At 4,167 metres, or roughly 13,000 feet Jbel (Jebel) Toubkal / Adrar n Toubkal is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountans and North Africa. This hike takes two days allowing you to experience the peace and tranquility of the mountains coupled with a true feeling of achievement (and not to mention a bit of smugness) without eating too much into your holiday.

Day One: You will be collected from your accommodation in Marrakech at about 8am for an exhilarating 1.5 hour drive south over the gorges and high passes of the Tizi n’Techt road to the town of Imlil (1740m), known as Morocco’s “Little Chamonix”. From here you will strike out some 4km in the shadow of the jagged peaks of the Toubkal Massif, stopping at a small village built seemingly house upon house overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of fruit trees and vegetables. Another equally-quaint village, Sidi Chamharouch, awaits you, a further 8km up the valley beside a waterfall and stream, again with its homes built chaotically on top of each other! The village, a place of pilgrimage for devout Moslems (the shrine is forbidden to non-Moslems) and said to be a relic of a pre-Islamic religious cult, is where you will stop for a picnic lunch. As you rest and eat, you will be afforded memorable views of mighty Jbel Toubkal. The final part of the first day’s journey is the trek to the Toubkal Refuge(3207m), for dinner and overnight accommodation. Please note that as this is at a mountain refuge, standards are quite basic.

Day Two: A very early breakfast will await you as you set out at the crack of dawn to witness a spectacular sunrise. After a 3-hour, non-technical climb, the fruits of your labour will be rewarded with a stunning panorama as you reach the summit and gaze across the High Atlas range. Whenever you are ready, you will be guided back to the refuge for a picnic lunch, before continuing your descent past Berber villages, fertile valleys, zigzagging paths and granite/basalt rocks. You should expect to arrive back at Imlil at about 4pm where a refreshing glass of mint tea awaits.

The skipper of the day gives a short lecture on shark anatomy and behaviour. He explains how White Sharks Projects works with the sharks in the area. You will spend around four to six hours at sea, depending on the frequency of shark visits to the boat. Once the skipper has decided upon the best site, you will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to enter the water in a shark cage. The cage takes 2-3 people at a time and you will spend around 20 minutes in the water surrounded by these magnificent creatures. All equipment, including 7mm wetsuits, is provided - you don't need a scuba licence to cage dive. If you change your mind and do not want to enter the water, you can simply enjoy the surface viewing – sharks naturally feed at the surface so photo opportunities abound.

The shark cage dive takes place on Shark Team, an 11-meter, 4-ton catamaran with all the latest electronic and safety equipment. The boat was custom-built for shark diving, so there is plenty of space for everyone to view the sharks in comfort. It holds up to 18 passengers and the crew consists of experienced Skippers, a qualified Paramedic, a Dive Master and friendly, helpful staff. They operate with the benefit of 15 years’ experience in Great White Shark research, conservation and eco-tourism, behind them.
